HEX (JAPANESE RESIDENTIAL)

Hex is a residential design project that explores the capacity of geometry and light to construct atmosphere within the constraints of a compact domestic space in Japan. The design is informed by an investigation into how light carves out habitable volume within a dense urban environment, treating luminosity as a primary architectural tool.

In this concept, geometry transcends decoration to become the architecture itself. Through the integration of a rigorous hexagonal motif, the spatial layout is defined by structural rhythm rather than superficial ornamentation. LED lighting is embedded directly within these geometric elements, allowing surfaces to shift in perception and transforming the interior into a dynamic, light-responsive environment.

The material palette remains deliberately restrained—composed of concrete, glass, and marble—to ensure the interplay of form and light remains the focal point. This monolithic aesthetic is grounded by rigorous technical development; the project includes a comprehensive suite of technical drawings, ranging from detailed plumbing layouts to precise architectural junctions. Hex stands as a synthesis of bold futuristic form and the disciplined spatial engineering required for modern Japanese living.
